Redbird Rookies Health Fair
The Center's audiologists, school screeners and student volunteers from Washington University checked hundreds of kids for hearing and vision disorders during the Redbird Rookies Health Fair this Saturday at Fontebonne University.
The health fair gives kids in the Redbird Rookies baseball league access to essential health and social services. The basic Center-provided hearing and vision checks identify problems that can impact a child's education or family life.
In addition to Center, Cardinals Care and Wash U. volunteers; five employees from the Kohl's department store in Crestwood volunteered making the day run smoothly. They volunteered through the the Kohl's Care program which provides volunteer and financial assistance to non-profit organizations.
Redbird Rookies is the co-ed youth baseball program operated by St. Louis Cardinals Community Fund: Cardinals Care, which provides mentorship and off-field support to area children.
Since 2002, Cardinals Care has helped fund the Center’s Audiology, Speech-Language and School Screening programs.
Thank you to the Cardinals, Fontbonne, Wash U. and Kohl's for helping us reach more kids and change more lives!
